Since, erm, ages ago (November?) I've had a webcam pointing to the new building that's being built on campus - I've been taking images for a time-lapse video of it being built...
Unfortunatly, the camera fell off the window cill this afternoon after it's wires got tangled up with someone else's experiment - the chance of getting it lined up again is pretty much bugger all... so I guess I've taken the last frame of the build... even though the build isn't compete yet :-( That said the exterior is nearly finished so the video would have finished soon anyway... I might have a go at making a video later on today when I get back.
Where is it then?
Posted by: Chris on June 12, 2006 4:54 PMWell... I need to reendcode it...
Basically the first cut of the video at 25 fps, sort of took the mick... bearing in mind that 1 frame was one realtime minute... thus the film would have lasted some silly length of time and taken a while to download... the DivX was about 1Gb!
Clearly I need to throwaway about 99.9% of the frames but I've not got around to doing that yet!
I've also got to work out what to do with the darkness hours... will have to make a script which does things (either simply like only picking between times when it's clearly daylight, or do some funky sunrise and sunset calculations...) to remove these before I make the video...
An alternative way would be to write it so that it only does it through the working day of the builders (when the building changed)... and remove things like weekends and Bank Holidays where bugger all happens (other than snow around Christmas)
