Can you escape the Crimson Room?

I did... ten minutes... love it :)

Crimson Room

Go on... :)

[Edit: this post got eaten and then recovered... I lost the comments... here is a copy of them...]

[Update (6th July 2005): I've got fed up with people not being able to open the safe... I've made another post about it, explaining why I don't think it's working for you. I strongly suggest you go and read it before you moan that you can't find the code and the safe won't open. If you post here and just ask for the code works or go all stressy that the safe won't open for you... I suggest you turn off your the computer, go outside and get a life - it's only a game dammit!]

[Another Update (16th December 2005): I am now getting really really annoyed with people coming along and saying "the code for the safe is..." stop it damn you! The code changes depending on the computer you use to get the code...! Read all about it here on another "Ed needs to vent about the out-of-control post that is the Crimson Room one" - take note about the idiot gallery I mention... telling people the code you used doesn't help people win the game, it slows them down! Don't do it. It's not big and it's not clever.

Oh yeah, and still stop asking what the code is already... go to the URL on the bit of paper... that's the code... and use the key you've not used yet with the safe... it might actually open that way... sorry I'm being a tad... erm... on the patronising side, but it's silly how if anyone read the comments they should be able to get out... even if some of the ones (mentioning 1994 as the code) are a tad out of date now...

grrr, evil Ed. It is late, but I can't do it, I have been defeated! I can get lot of keys and boxes and stuff and powered the CD player and so forth. But then I couldn't get anywhere, I tried clicking everywhere with every comination of things I had but just couldn't find anything new. grrrrr, how do you do it?!?!?!

Posted by: Adam on March 5, 2004 01:25 AM

Yep, it is very annoying having to click every square millimetre of the screen to find the objects. It pissed me off royally.

Which items have you got? I might be able to give you a hint if I know where you are.

eek...took me slightly *cough* longer than 10 minutes!
And I had to cheat :( to find the second ring...but I have actual work that I'm meant to be doing so its all for the best really :)

WHAT IS THE CODE TO THE SAFE???????? HELP

Posted by: GAZ on March 11, 2004 08:18 AM

hehe, well if you've got that far then you should only have 1 thing left that you haven't used!!

Posted by: Adam on March 11, 2004 02:46 PM

Yey, reader reader interaction :)

Posted by: Ed on March 11, 2004 02:47 PM

Whats the fucking point in this site if you can't inform the public how to complete this shitty game. Anyone, from beginning to end, could you please give instructions?

Thank you

Posted by: Ben on March 19, 2004 02:48 PM

What's the point of telling you how to complete the shitty game? If all you are going to do is follow instuctions and complete it using that, hardly satisfying, a trained monkey could do that!

You might as well crawl back in to the hole you came from and not bother trying to play the game.

use the link

Posted by: sarah on March 20, 2004 12:37 PM

Whick link? Sarah I think you're missing what he was asking... or I'm missing something! He wants step by step instuctions like:

1. Place all dry ingredients into a bowl.
2. Mix well.

Etc...

My turn to have missed something now :)

Posted by:Ed on March 20, 2004 01:42 PM

eek! sorry ur quite correct.
I was answering GAZ's question about the code to the safe, rather than Ben's.
However, if you did want step by step instructions just do a google search - they are out there if you are that desperate!
I think I might have been missing the point of this game - cos i was quite capable of doing it when I had found all the bits, but couldn't seem to manouver my way around the room in order to collect them - esp those by the bed. Once I had them I was fine. I don't even know how I got to some of them - and can't repeat it - e.g. finding the metal rod!

Posted by: sarah on March 21, 2004 02:15 PM

Ah ha, I see, sorry ({)

On the searching on Google front, I think that's what he did... and was pissed off that a page which mentions the Crimson Room didn't mention how to complete it! Clearly every page you come across must tell you how to complete the game! Hmmm... oh dear Ben you seem to have annoyed me!

Posted by: Ed on March 21, 2004 03:21 PM

Hehe. Ben - if you're still in the Crimson Room trying to find 'dry ingredients', then I think it's time to stop now!

By the way I admit I had to cheat to find the metal rod, and it did take about half an hour. I agree with Sarah - it was less a game, more a matter of clicking in random places until something happened!

Entertaining but I won't be contributing to the Japanese creator's forthcoming 'Green Room' :-)
