Well today I've been invigilating an exam - a whole 5 people were scheduled to take the exam (it was a resit) and of people on that list, only one turned up! Another guy turned up who wasn't on the list to "take the exam at his own risk"
Seems to me like a crazy way to throw away a degree!
"Take the exam at his own risk" ??
How does that work?

There's a chance that his name isn't on the list because he's meant to be taking a different exam elsewhere and he's turned up the wrong place.
It's at his risk because he's at fault if he chooses to take the exam he's not registered instead of the one he is registered for...
