Now, that's a bit silly really Yahoo!

Well, I've just got an email sent to a Yahoo group and noticed it had been scored really highly on my spam checker... I looked through the email and couldn't find out how.

On re-reading the email I noticed their advertising signature!

Yeah, well done, advertise a spam busting service in a signature, but word it (Vi@gr@) in such a way that spam checkers will throw the genuine message up as spam - genius!

I'd sign up and check if the SpamGuard thing they are advertising would detect their own addition to messages as spam, but I really can't be bothered!

Sadly, their SpamGuard doesn't seem to pick it up (I think it's the same for BT & Yahoo). It does seem a bit erratic though; I've recently been getting a lot of fake bank emails with a nonsensical 'story' at the bottom to try and foil spam checkers (which I often find quite hilarious). BT/Yahoo correctly marks them as spam. Today I got one without the story, which it didn't pick up on.

(Although I suppose it could be the spammers that have got their tactics wrong!)
