Following on from my last post... nah it didn't timeout when I put the other card in the machine... bit of a bastard that you know!
So, it was off to PCWorld (yuk!) to buy one where at least I could look at the box before buying and would feel like I could moan if it didn't work etc etc...
So, 20 quid later I've got myself a box with a card in it. I couldn't look inside in the shop 'cause it had a security thing over the flap...
Upon arriving home I was aghast when I saw that it had the same bloody chipset in it! FIngers crossed as the machine booted...
Argh, it almost had the same message! But almost is good enough as it recognised the harddrive. It' now merrily formatting it. Here's hopeing it doesn't tell me that Windows can't format the drive or what other bollocks it might want to tell me!
