Just been looking at some server logs on one of the Linux machines on campus I have the pleasure in helping maintain... there was a really annoying long list of broken packets been sent out by one computer in particular... so I went and had a looksy at what the services the computer had runnning. It appeared to be running a webserver, ftp server and a telnet server... so I visited the webserver, to see what I could see, could see...
Yup, folks, it's the control thing you'll see many a lecturer fighting with at the begining and thoughout the lecture trying to get the screen down... the projector on... and the Powerpoint presentation coming from their laptop...
It's a pity that it's out of term time, or I could caused much confusion and hilarity by randomly clicking the buttons... making the lecture theatre become possessed as it were!
I've decided to tell the departmental computer bod, as I know he'll take great pleasure in telling Information Services that one of their computers isn't locked down as much as it should be! They love sending him a weekly email with a list of all the wrong goings on that are happening in our department with the machines over here... so now it's his turn to get his own back!
