Today I've been really quite saddened that one of TV's greatest Yorkshiremen has died :-(
While growing up in Yorkshire I was lucky to have a double evening helping of him as at that time he was always there on the evening local news and on Countdown. He was probably the first person I ever remember seeing on TV, waaay before we had one - Grandma did and it was one of her favourite TV shows so we used to watch it whenever we were there - not understanding what was going on mind as I couldn't spell - we also though he lived in her TV!
