Congratulations, Ed!
Your IQ score is 144This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.
Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns....
How proud... or not maybe as you do a search for Visionary Philosopher on the net and find loads of people have done the test and are also Visionary Philosophers :-) Maybe you don't post to the web if it says that you are an Amoeba.
Try out the test yourself at Tickle... I don't trust its scores myself as there is no time limit and I sat thinking about some of the questions for a long time. And everyone with an IQ of above room temperature knows that IQ tests are stupid!
Didn't have to resort to cheating and using my calculator or paper though, so I'm happy :)
Come on, be active and post your scores :)
Oh, and use a fake email address :)1 I sense spammage might occur if you don't - of course I maybe wrong... used my trusty spam catching email address so can be certain if this will happen :)
1 As in for the test when it asks for it... use fake email addresses for the comments as well if you really want to... :)
Congratulations, Rob!
Your IQ score is 136
This number is the result of a formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on Tickle's Classic IQ test. Your IQ score is scientifically accurate; to read more about the science behind our IQ test, click here.
During the test, you answered four different types of questions — mathematical, visual-spatial, linguistic and logical. We analyzed how you did on those questions, which reveals the way your brain uniquely works.
We also compared your answers with others who have taken the test, and according to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is an Insightful Linguist.
This means you are highly intelligent and have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Seriously folks, that's a lot lower than what I normally get on IQ tests... I think this Stella is really kicking in now! (and I don't mean just this evening... years of consumption must kill cells)

However, online IQ tests are notoriously inaccurate and flawed and, although I'm certainly not an expert, I suspect this one is no better. So I wouldn't put too much trust in it.
Posted by: Tom on March 25, 2004 10:03 PMTom, get anything better than the Visionary Philosopher? What did it say about you?
Erm, I've no idea, I only looked at the number. After ignoring all of the bits asking me to buy a 15-page report I didn't read the rest.
Posted by: Tom on March 25, 2004 10:30 PMI disbelieve this IQ test. 133 and a visual mathematician! Load of bollocks if you ask me...
(Matt's not at all bitter that you all beat him... :D)
Amusingly after going back and checking stuff i was unsure of with a calculator; the stuff i got wrong was the next picture in the pattern stuff, which, as a visual mathematician i'm supposed to be good at. Ho hum.

"Your Intellectual Type is Insightful Linguist. This means you are highly intelligent and have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist."
hmm - maybe some truth as linguistics was my first degree choice...
...on second thought its a load of blullshit. My artistic 'stengths' began and ended with stick-men.
IQ schmIQ
Oh, and I was puzzled with that question as well, Sarah - which number was I supposed to like?
Best return from these distractions and get back to 'fluently writing' that college report :-)
Posted by: John aka JJ on March 27, 2004 12:26 PMHehe - just noticed I wrote 'blullshit'. So much for writing ability :-)
Posted by: John aka JJ on March 27, 2004 12:32 PMFear not folks who have difficulties... this test appears to be one of the most talked about ones on the net. Mainly due to nearly everyone who does it ending up with a 130+ IQ. In my readings of many blogs on the subject I have found the answers on the web... some of the explantions are a bit crap though (including the numbers John likes) - mainly due to person who did the answers finding themby trial and error - so he doesn't actually understand them :)
I'll post the link sometime (and explain John's numbers) later to give more folks a chance of doing it without feeling the need to cheat.
Not that there is any need to actually cheat at the test, you could just lie about what score you got. Not that anyone would do that, 'cause they'd probably get found out and then look like a not so intelligent person and make me laugh lots.
Posted by: Ed on March 27, 2004 12:34 PM129 Visual Mathematician
Makes me feel quite inferior getting under 130 but you all had the advantage of going to university.
Like Matt I discovered that the questions that I was least likely to of got correct were the next picture in the pattern ones.
There seems to be a link - visionary, visual and insightful - all involve looking at things! I'd ignore the first word and just take note of the second one.
I'm training to be an accountant by the way so the mathematician bit is accurate.
I'm quite sure John would like 2500 but not 2400 :-)

Posted by: Adam on March 28, 2004 6:14 PMI was wondering what the real answers were, and I found where someone had bought the answer key (crackers!), and then posted on the internet (but crackers in a friendly way I suppose!).
I figured I'd put those answers in (evidently I have too much time on my hands)...and see what the maximum score I could have got...which was 144. I guess it is a bit of a rubbish test anyway - but passes the time! I've got a nasty feeling I learnt about proper IQ test scoring systems in one of my lectures and have forgotten (*cough*).
So Tom did really well to get 156 out of 144...!
lol:)
Ok, you got me. I couldn't be bothered to do the test, so I invented a score. And I would have got away with it if it weren't for you meddling kids.
Lesson learned, I think.

I stumbled on the test when it popped up from an online dictionary site. First IQ test ever. Is there anywhere else online for good tests or explanations about scores and possible scores?
I tried to do the test quickly and as a result guessed a few questions that may have been solvable with more time and thought.
I have no idea what number John likes or why, or what those letters rearrange to form (call me lazy!).
So how many of the other Visionary Philosophers out there enjoyed 'Sophie's World'?
Posted by: Athena on April 20, 2004 5:55 AM138- Visionary Philosopher!
John likes the number 900 because it's a perfect square- 30x30. He only likes perfect squares.
And the letters rearrange to form 'England', so the right answer would be a country. ^_^
Yup, I have too much time on my hands and redid the test to find out the maximum score- 144, like sarah wrote.
Beats doing homework...
Cheers,
JustMe.
PS: I did enjoy 'Sophie's World'!!! What about the other Visionary Philosophers and 'Harry Potter'? Did you love it as well?
Posted by: JustMe on April 21, 2004 8:18 PMArggh, another visionary philosopher, 136.
What is the deal with those colored squares with semicircles or squares inside them? What is the logic there?
Posted by: geo on April 22, 2004 9:25 PMGeo,
The colour on the inside half of each of the 4 squares matches the colour of the inside half-circle/square inside the square diagonally opposite it.
The colour on the outside half of each of the 4 squares matches the colour of the outside half-circle/square inside the square horizontally next to it.
(Obviously!)
Therefore the right one is the third one down.
btw I'm apparantly I an "Insightful Linguist", but I enjoyed enjoyed Sophie's World (as well as its sequel The Solitaire Mystery), although I've not read a single Harry Potter book.
For "Insightful / Visual Mathemician" types I'd recommend the book Satan, Cantor and Infinity.
(cos I couldn't understand a word of it!)
Back to work...

Posted by: haha on June 1, 2004 5:54 PMI recon ive figured out why most people who do the tickle test get a high socre.
1) All those capable of using a computer and sucesfully finding the test are bound to have an IQ over 100 (thats the upper 50% of the population.
2) All those who can actually be bothered to start an internet IQ test are likely to have an IQ over 120 (top 10%)
3) All those that actually finish the test without getting bored are likely to have an IQ over 125 (top 5%)
4) Any idiot that managet to bumble their way through the test and get a shitty score isnt going to brag about it. "thats if they realise its actually a shitty score" as ive met some one who thought the IQ score was out of 100!! And they were happy with 72!!!

144 visionary philosopher (super IQ not classic - a bit longer but just as interesting). i also tried the timed test on iqtest.com and received a 155. the latter was a lot easier and not so interesting. why? oh i don't know, bored and like puzzles i guess. am i going to change careers and go be an architect? not likely;-)

Although I thik I am closer to the 'Insightful Linguist', go figure. I have taken it before, I think I had the same score but was placed under one of the mathemetician types -
This time I answered one of the logic questions *correctly*, rather than the answer I knew the test recognized as right - so I think it marked me down for that one.
This is probably one of the least accurate tests I have taken. IQ tests generally are more accurate when they ask your age. Time componernts may or may not help - someone can be quite logical without having to be fast - although the timed ones do give score boosts for being fast, which is cool.
And a 144 max is rather silly - though most of the population should be gettign scores between 110 and 130 or so - 'pparently not on this test.

Hmmm... Ironically my IQ tests from elementary school were quite close 139. And when I had to go to a psychologist for an eval. after I got a DWI he kept bringing up philosophy and telling me I should read Plato and a bunch of other philosophy books. And I think getting a DWI does knock you IQ down at LEAST 3 points so it kind of adds up, you know?

Posted by: Zach on November 8, 2004 2:21 AMDo not pay for the in depth analysis, I did and then got billed for 4 months without realising, as it was only 7 quid and i just pay off my credit card with direct debit, what happens is that when you recieve your iq report apparently at the bottom it says if you do not cancel your account you will be billed monthly, this is after you were asked to pay a one off fee, and you assume you are just reciving a reciept for that one off payement, you do not automatically assume you have to read the fine print in case your automatically shoved on a monthly payement scheme for which you will never be emailed any reciepts.
tickle replied with oops since you have now canceled your account with us we have none of your payment history and it did say on your reciept that we would do this.

Very nice, with so many visionary philosophers in the world, wouldnt you think that it would be a much nicer place?
perhaps people were too busy being philosophical to get my train in on time this morning.
But then again maybe not, i firmly believe IQ tests belond in the same category as astrology, but i suppose i don't mind a self indulgent exclusive group patting themselves on the back so long as i can join in :-)

When I first conducted this I received a 140. Then I performed a search and found this blog, so I went back and answered most of the questions incorrectly, and received this return:
Your IQ score is 90
Your Intellectual Type is Precision Processor. This means you're exceptionally good at discovering quick solutions to problems, especially ones that involve math or logic. You're also resourceful and able to think on your feet.
Well....I got 131 and I'm not a visionary philosopher. I am a Word Warrior, so clearly I have exceptional word skills and can easily understand complex issues (blah, blah, blah) According to the brief profile my strengths also make me a visionary - so maybe I'm just a mutated visionary philosopher :)
I think you are all too hard on the internet IQ test thing. When I did my masters degree they said if it's on the net it must be true....or was that the other way round?
Anyway..love your work.
Posted by: Superman on January 24, 2005 4:13 AM Let's for a moment use the analagy that I.Q's are like marijuana use,...the higher the better right? Most people do any way.
It is entirely not true because like weed those who use it need to use it more and more to feel as high. See, ones with a high score need to compare or learn of them selves and score higher and higher or express that they have scored higher. that in it's self is foolishness.
I know my own thought prosess and so do you,... we know that wich we are capable of and are willing to test it's limits.
But those who come up very, very short in the score, (if at all they've taken a test) go through life only mildly effected by it. they take little consideration for the matter and are probably pretty anoyed by the bickering of ones who are smart enough to have a need to feel smarter. Let us all find a feeling of content in our ability and not let egos soar.
Sincerely yours,
Cameron.

Posted by: Plato's Ghost on October 20, 2005 6:46 PM140 and another VP. I took this a few years back and I think I got a 132 but don't remember if there was a "type" associated with it.
Posted by: Jorge on December 26, 2005 1:35 AM140 VP. And there's a way of getting the full report without paying for it and without accepting any special offers...
Posted by: ana on January 3, 2006 12:29 PMI got 127 -Sob- And IL. Although my score isnt that bad considering im.... 12 years old ^_^
Posted by: Justin on January 12, 2006 6:58 AMOh and what would this way be?
Posted by: Justin on January 12, 2006 7:07 AMGo to the emailed test results. Click where it says something about getting your report. You will be offered an alternative way of obtaining the full report without paying - something about offers from Tickle's sponsors. Just click "no" on all the offers (a couple of pages worth), and at the end, you'll get your full report anyway. (But it's much more gratifying to do an official Mensa test and find that you qualify...)
Posted by: ana on January 20, 2006 10:58 AMWell, at first try I got 144 and a Visionary Philosopher badge. You tell me 144 is the maximum, so all my answers must have been correct. I must say that I had vague memories of having taken similar tests for fun years ago somewhere (I guess in a magazine) ... and I think that has a lot to do with getting a good result. And I really don't think getting this result is going to change my life, actually ...

Both IQtest.com and tickle are lame. got 144 with tickle, and 175 with IQtest.. and I know I'm not that smart (the 175.. insane!), last time I did a mensa one scored 162 so neither is accurate.. or maybe all three are inaccurate. gotta love the "This score is better than greater than 99.99% of all persons taking this test." all over the IQtest page though.
Posted by: Sean on March 21, 2006 4:24 PMJust tried the one someone posted a link to on high iq society.. got a 154 by randomly clicking. just as bad as the others.
Posted by: Sean on March 21, 2006 4:40 PM133 - Visionary Philosopher... what a load of crap.. I got a D in philosophy... but have an A average in my engineering courses without much effort.. I vote this test is flawed...
As for the mensa person... they can go to hell.. If you have to form a society because you think your better then everyone else because your intelligent. I feel sorry for you as do all the other truly intelligent people.
Posted by: Eric on April 5, 2006 12:37 AMCongratulations, Becky!
Your IQ score is 135
This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.
Your Intellectual Type is Facts Curator. This means you are highly intelligent and have picked up an impressive and unique collection of facts and figures over the years. You've got a remarkable vocabulary and exceptional math skills — which puts you in the same class as brainiacs like Bill Gates. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.
lol im 14 quite pleased!
btw, iq tests do not measure as you might an object you can touch with a ruler, but they can classify intelligence.
Posted by: becky on April 18, 2006 4:26 AM*135* Visionary Philosopher!!! I like the number *135* because its divisible by 5. I have an affinity for numbers that are divisible by *five*, so every time I write them, I put "**" around them. John can stuff his square numbers right back up his pants-- visualize that philosphy, Johnny!

Cool! I'm a visionary philosopher. What should I do with my rich pool of IQ points? I know. World Peace! End hunger! Perpetual motion! Time travel! But, first I'll Google the reults and...nevermind. I'm envisioning another beer. Here's to you, VP's of the world!
Posted by: wACkEr on June 7, 2006 5:12 AMOh no... another visionary philosipher here too...
136... I'm sure since I started Uni my IQ is getting lower... I can't think why tho...
I received the "Invisible Instigator" rating of 140. Can anyone see me?
Let's rise up and change the world!
Posted by: josh on September 24, 2006 6:43 PM..yet another VP - i always thought I was a tortured soul, who needs to be working in a more philosophical role than my current job in audit...perhaps I could get a job as a tester of exotic cannabis..and then I can exercise my visual philosophical abilities...
load of bollocks...
i tried the mensa workout and it's much tougher..although i got bored and didnt bother completing it...i think it gives a good reality check..
if all us are visual philosophers then who the hell are the thick ones...
Posted by: S on March 7, 2007 7:55 PMOne more to the list,
140 Visionary Philosopher in Tickle Tests... But honestly, i think these tests are not accurate at all... there are so many things that those questions are not taking into account! A real and accurate test would take days, and even months analizing a person.. that's why these numbers are so bound to be wrong in my opinion.. Well, greetings from Argentina here..!
Posted by: Yanina on March 9, 2007 5:24 PMi just randomly did it and ended up with a 118-
Inventive Inquisitor. whats this shit anywyas??
137 . . . saying i am a visual philosopher. Not bad considering i am 13 :)
Posted by: becca on May 14, 2007 7:43 PM135 Visionary Philosopher same thing. A lot of philosophers in this small world,no ? ;) ok, it was fun! IQ tests have almost nothing to do with intelligence
Posted by: Nyquist on December 17, 2007 5:45 PM142, Visionary Philosopher
Taken in 10 minutes, haven't used the web or a calculator. Not a native english speaker, I might got some of the riddles wrong. I don't think this test is proving anything, the just want to make a dollar by convincing people to buy some stupid reports ...
140 and another visual philosopher
My opinion why everyone on this blog scored so high...
VP is the classification for the highest scores.
Like me, nobody has any idea what that means and feel like a genius due to the high score...
So you pop VP in google and up at this site.
Must be the philosopher in me...
I tend to agree the test is BS
Posted by: Matt on January 27, 2008 1:09 AMIQ of 133 so one more like Plato...that kind of IQ-tests tells more about the kind of people that takes the test....if you feel that you're clever, at one moment you will try to test your IQ....and we all did it ;-)
